History
The Park Ridge Fire Department was established in 1893 with volunteer firefighters. Today, the Department provides fire suppression, emergency medical and other emergency services to approximately 37,775 residents within its jurisdiction, as well as to commercial, and residential occupancies over an area that exceeds seven square miles.
The Department is comprised of fifty-two full-time sworn firefighters. One Battalion Chief, two Lieutenants and thirteen Firefighters are assigned to each shift. The administrative staff consists of a Chief, Deputy Chief, Training Officer and Administrative Assistant. A Fire Lieutenant, a Firefighter/Fire Inspector, and a part-time inspector staff the Fire Prevention Bureau.
